    front bumper for widebody

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
hey guys, need some honest opinions here. i got into a debate with a few buddies and they are saying i should do an open grill front end conversion for my widebody i intend to do.

what kind of front bumper would you guys use if you were to go wide body?

i wanted to do an oem rs6 widebody conversion, but my buddies say im on drugs if i dont do the lltek rs4 front end on the c5. their points are that the oem is way too plain, and looks stock. a few girls felt the exact same way too. we are all enthusiasts, so the bumper to us doesnt fit right in our hearts, its an rs4 look, on a c5. i had 5 different people tell me that the lltek bumper looks 1000x better then the oem rs6 style.

i am looking at rieger too, but they still think the rs front end is better. what about a c6 grill conversion? maybe like s6 or something. i dont like the Oettinger bumper for the c5. if it looked anything like the b6, i think id be sold on that.

what do you guys think? im kind of pre-planning, i have a few months before i pull the trigger on this widebody. i dont want it to look ricey, but to be perfectly honest, that rs4 front end does look really hot. the pics on lltek site doesnt do it justice since the car is a 4x4 and no widebody work is done to it.

Out of the options here, I'd go with the B7 RS4 nose. The others really just don't look aggressive enough for a widebody conversion.

If it were me, and I was going widebody... I'd buy a stock c5 rs6 front bumper, and just go widebody with that. I think it looks awesome.

not to be a Debbie downer but i think all 3 of them look like shit and ruin the car, i would leave it stock or get the lltek R6 kit, which mimics the RS6, it looks perfect, just my 2 cents.

RS6 or bust, IMO. Can't beat the sexiness of that. JW, are you going to fully fabricate the widebody or go off something like the 4.2 skeleton?

Never been a fan of replicating OEM cars. Much like B5 guys putting S4 kits on, I don't appreciate wannabe RS6's. Not really a lot of styling options for the C5, and that just sucks. Just my 00.02

    Re: front bumper for widebody

im not 100% positive yet on which way im gonna go. we may use rs6 side components and 4.2 fenders and do a custom rear quarter panel. my friend said he can get alot of oem parts for dirt cheap so i might go that route. i know there isnt really too many bumper options and the ones listed are more or less the cleanest ones. thats why this is so hard to decide

that oetty one does look alot better with it shaved like that, and with a front mount i think it would look pretty cool.

anyone know any other bumper options i may have over looked?

if you want to really look pimp (and since you're droppin $$ on widebody) you should get a fat lip molded on the front of the stock bumper (and it'll look even better with RS style grills)

    ^^ that is my wish.

like that? but shaved to the bumper, and connected in the front, so it flows the lines of the fenders to the side skirts??

    Re: front bumper for widebody

stumbled across this bumper from over the pond. maybe im crazy but i like this one for some reason. its called Shadow if that link doesnt take u right to it

    http://fx-tuning.pl/fxtuning/custome...st.faces?rvn=1

i would modify it so it wouldnt be so busy, maybe to look something like this (sorry, mspaint edited) :

s6 led's would fit nice in there too. the bumper is "high quality" fibreglass, thats the only thing that doesnt sit right with me. modified i think this bumper would look killer on widebody. am i alone on this one?

    Re: front bumper for widebody

I've never really paid much attention... How big is the difference between a b6 a4 front bumper, and the c5 a6? Could an a4 lip be molded to the a6 bumper? Could an a4 bumper easily be trimmed to fit an a6?

It doesn't seem like the differences would be too large for you to not be able to use it.... Especially if you're doing as much body work as a widebody.

    Re: front bumper for widebody

Hi there, just some warning you that the rs6 skirts and blades are expensive even if your friend can get you a deal, plus the front 4.2 fenders are not that cheap either, and your going to have to tie the rear fenders with the sideskirts. Not trying to burst your bubble, just want you to realize it's going to be a costly investment to make your car a widebody. Good luck with what you decide and keep us posted, I'm watching this thread closely, I'm curious to know what you end up doing.

    lol that would be awesome.

im running out of ideas though for bumper. that Shadow bumper i really really like will cost 1k for just shipping, plus the cost of the bumper

i mite just go with oc-drops idea. i talked to someone who had an r6 bumper from lltek and they said it was almost worse then fibreglass the quality. it shatters in the winter time if u hit something.

i found a front skirt that clips over your bumper like the oetty kit, and it has the thing that oc-drop was talking about. id get it shaved to the bumper so it looks like 1 piece. i think with a front mount, and rs grills on the sides, this might be my best bet. comments?

Shave the fog light holes and the vent hole below, and relocate the fogs to the outer main holes, and it wouldn't be too bad.

The problem with the r6 kit from lltek is that the bumpers material is borderline terrible. In the winter it will shatter from the littlest hit when its cold out

I would but they don't make a widebody biturbo 6spd stick sedan. If I can find a way to get that shadow bumper shipped for cheaper I am going that route. Looks the best out of them all imo.

what does suck is nobody makes body kits that fit an 4.2 without heavy body shop mods..so if u have a 2.7 and pull fenders and what not you run into the only option of getting the rs6 front bumper...which may be a big difference to someone in a 2.7 but to me i was thinkin of a rs6 bumper but imo its not a big enough change for the big bills =[[

Spend all that money and your car looks stock and the average person can't tell you even did anything.euro scene around here is horrible, people can't tell the differences between audi chassis. Where can I see the company or personal shots of this?

    - it is my plan to go this route which will allow rs4 stock wheels, etc and have the look we really want: sort of stock but the badass version of stock. our S4 avant will eventually have the underpinnings of the rs4 avant so we'd love it to look similar. not really trying to copy just wish it were a wide body version already.
