Water In door jams

[Lets Go]

I get a lot of water in my door jams not in the car, just the jam. After a good rain if I open the door water pours out. But not a drop in the car. I know about the sunroof drains, drains in the rear fenders and the battery tray (When they get clogged usually the inside gets wet) plus it's every door and the seals are good. Anyone else have this problem? or a Fix?

Have the exact same problem in my car. My parents doesnt though..

Doesnt really bug me though, i was just curious the first time it happend

Same thing happens to me. When I first got the car I thought I had left the window open or something and was expecting wet seats and mats and that nasty mildew smell.

I get it too. It kinda bothered me at first, but haven't seen any ill effects (yet).

same issues..just open the doors a little and let it air out while your at work for an hour or so, it should all dry up.

after i wash my car, i open all four doors while im drying it and also clean the sills. ive always wondered why all that water comes out too?

add me to the list - it's worse in the rear driver's side door. It never gets in the car - just pours off the sill.

make that one more, i jsut assumed that there is a gap some where on the door, when i saw it the first time i got a carfax report to make sure it wasnt in an accident... still have no idea why but the car stays dry

add another. i think the seal at the botttom of the glass is not so great, so the water is coming out of the bottom of the door.

yepp i think it happens to all of em because of the way the bottom of the doors kinda go straight down and overlap just a little... could be wrong thats just what i think.. it does kinda bother me as well

i dont know, mine drips out from somewhere when i open the door to dry the car..... at any rate it doesnt really bother me

i think its just a little flaw in door design, i have it too in both of my B6s, i also have paper roll in trunk to dry it up after rain.

Believe it or not, this is a normal thing with our cars. It is a combination of the flush glass on the side windows and the placement of the door seals themselves. If you open your door, notice that the door seal itself is around the inner door opening. This keeps the inside of the car dry, but allows the water to sit on the outer sill. Some water does come from out of the door bottom, but most of it is flowing in from the gaps between the door and down the door jambs from the upper parts of the car. Again, look at the design and you'll understand why our door sills are wet. The sunroof drains are a whole other issue not related to this.

It might be the reason I have corrosion on the driver side wires.

when i open the door, i can see some water dripping from the drain holes on the bottom of the door, chief. i'm not the only one, chief...

Ditto here, it only happens to mine on the drivers side rear! I just think that this is a typical thing. Water Drains through the doors and drains out the bottom where that little rubber flap seals it blah blah blah
