what d'u guys think of this deal

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
been looking all over and not finding many 6pds quattro in the color combos i want. i need to pull the trigger soon and i test drove this..

    2005.5 a42.0t fwd
    25,000 miles
    cpo
    black on black 6sp manual
    sirius bose
    lighting pkg
    power leather seats
    sports suspension

umm that's pretty much it. saw it online for 22500, got to the dealer to find sticker at 23800. tried to get it for around 20-21k otd but by the end of the day, the best they offered was 21500+++

man why aren't they budging much when new 08's are coming out?

what do you guys think? is this a good deal? i think it's a bit much but it's the only manual at the dealer.

    other alternatives:
05.5 black/grey quattro 17k miles everythign the same except no bose or satellite asking 22500 no cpo

06 silver/black quattro sline 33k miles asking 23,900. no cpo and far from me

don't like silver interior... not sure about silver exterior.. haven't seen much silver b7's. how do they look dropped?

if you were to choose from the ones offered, i would do the silver sline, the warranty should still be good so you will be covered up to 50k. then you can always call audi and see what they can do for an extended warranty! Go quattro or go home.

Re: what d'u guys think of this deal

like i said, i def want quattro but time is not on my side, there's not many to choose from in 6sp(6sp > quattro for me), and only wanna spend a certain amt on a car this time for various reasons.

i have my own reasons why i love quattro much more than fwd. that said, your opinion on quattro.... handling, 'driving experience', why i should pay the extra for quattro, etc. etc. means as much to me as a stripper telling me she's working to pay her way through college seeing how you cheaped out just getting springs on stock shocks instead of coilovers. However, i AM interested in your opinion on if that's a good deal or not seeing how you all purchased audi's.

Why do you need to purchase soon exactly? What's the rush...?

I say you wait to find the car you really like.

I've been looking for about 4 months now and I might have found the one this last week... Just need to figure pricing and other miscellaneous stuff.

good reference point. so age being the same and mileage being similar, $4,000 less for no quattro and no sline doesn't seem that bad of a trade.

I wasn't planning on tracking my 4000lb wagon so I didn't feel the need to spend nearly $1500 for coils + install (that I'd never adjust anyways) rather than the $450 I spent for springs + install. I don't really see achieving a better stance and improving handling (along with RS4 sways) for literally 1/3 of the cost as "cheaping out", but thanks for your asshole comment. Go buy an accord

Re: what d'u guys think of this deal

they dealer should budge a little more. i just got 07 20k miles no cpo and the only option was premium package and i paid $22k from private party

i think the dealer is bluffing. dont even talk to a sales guy. go in and ask for the sales manager. make them an offer that u think is a good deal and basically say "lets not waste any time. new b8's are coming out which makes this car already outdated. if you can do this price, ill drive the car home today, if not i will go elsewhere"

if they dont accept your offer, then go and look at that silver sline. i wouldnt worry so much about the cpo since your getting factory warranty until 50k miles. at which point you can consider selling or extending the warranty. figure out what the warranty would cost, my guess around $1500, and then you can figure out how much more your willing to pay for a car that has CPO all else being equal

dealers also look to move cars at the end of the month. so this is a good time to try and get a better deal

Re: what d'u guys think of this deal

actually now that i look at it. i dont love that silver sline deal . lets say u can get that first car you mentioned for 21500. i dont think its worth paying almost $2500 more and u have 8000 MORE miles and NO cpo... cpo is worth at least a grand, so thats almost $3500 more your paying for sline and MORE miles.. that doesnt seem good unless u can get that car for less...

like i said earlier. dont negotiate with the dealership, DONT let them negotiate payments and try and work our some financing magic to make the payments what you want. just pick your price, give it to them and say take it or leave it. the more haggling you do, the less likely they are to lower the price cause they see your just trying to get the best deal. just tell em what your willing to spend, and then the balls in their court. do they wanna sell a car, or would they rather sit on it because they didnt wanna drop another $500 or $1000 off the car. which might end up costing them that much if they sit on the car too long

don't care about your reasons... i'm sure you have your reasons for settling with the bouncy ride as i do mine for even considering a fwd. my point is just that if you made a post saying 'hey what springs should i get for my stock shocks' i wouldn't make your thread into a 'why you should buy coilovers instead, stop being cheap' thread... get my point. that is all. i know i know i have quattro now and i'm not liking this one bit.

trust me i've read a few of those fwd vs. quattro threads and i don't want this to become one.

lol at go buy an accord... in the same light... go cut your springs.

man this salesman was talking so much shit about how the b7's are so much better than the b8's... only thing good about it is the led's.. yada yada yada.. amazing what can come out of a salesmans mouth.

i did talk to the sales manager... crunched numbers together after dealer fees, taxes, tag & title, audi incentive for coming back(i forget what that's called), and basically he said i was asking for too much off. he said he can prob do my deal on an automatic since their dealership if full of em... this is the only manual they have.

also even with the cpo.. i'll only have 2 years and 8 months left on the warranty. mileage won't even be an issue. on factory warranty i'd have 8 months left.

Well, is there any way you can contact another dealership else where to fine a MT6 quattro, even out of state? Does it need to be a CPO and/or would you buy Pirvate Party? What is your budget? The cvt tranny really is crap and if you do plan on modding your car (i.e. BT kit) you will have to pay alot more to play. As of now all the companies coming out with kits are only making them for the MT6 quattro's, soon after that they will start working on the Automatic quattro (which can take up to another 6 months).

As a reference. I jumped into the Audi scene last month with a 2005.5 2.0 Quattro Tip w/ 30k miles, all opts except nav, cold weather, sport susp. Dealer cpo for $21.5k.
Price started out at $25k, but was $23k in their online listing. I just said I will pay $20k and sign the papers now. Came back with $22k, I didn't budge. Came back with $21.5. I said throw in the nice rubber mats and I'll take it.
Technically the Tips should be more than the 6MT... but supply/demand can change that.
BTW, I was much happier with the power after I got the 93 APR.

that's the kinda deal i'm looking to get, a few thousand off asking price but since this is their only 6pd on the lot.. they're not budging much.

in response to the others...not really looking for an sline in the low 20's, although that'd be nice. been really looking for just a manual quattro in the low 20's

also been looking everywhere... not just dealers near me. 6mt quattro's reasonably priced in either black or white is hard to find. i spent alot getting my last car.. this time around, my situations a bit different and i'm looking to get something a bit cheaper and hopefully not get into another 5 yr loan hence the reason i'm looking in the low to mid 20's.

just found another 07 white/black sline tit non cpo with 25k miles asking for 31K..... fwd.

I can understand both of those concerns. I would be to, I think Ebay's protection for the buyer is supposed to be pretty damn good though.

Since it is a 2007 the warranty could be good through the end of 2011. You would need to check the original purchase date of the car to really know when it will expire.

Also, I bet if you ask nicely someone in the Portland area may be willing to go test drive for you and at least see how it runs, etc. Or you can order an independent inspection of the car through Ebay.

Its a phone adapter for your bluetooth, you have to buy the product from Audi and it charges your phone while the bluetooth is on. You dont have to but it, it's only an extra item.

Naw man its just an extra part to buy. I'm sure you got bluetooth as long as you have the talk button and it activated.

All you will have to do is, turn n the bluetooth on your phone. go into pairing mode/search for devices. make sure your car is on. it should find audi UHV 2316. from there click connect and you should be golden. the car will make a noise when connected and will show on the radio "phone" then go back to the normal radio! and the DIS will show BT on
    The usual things!!

Re: what d'u guys think of this deal

Glad you got the car man. I know how tough it is to get the Audi you want. I just got into the Audi scene last Friday. I researched and then searched high and low for what I wanted: 2006+ A4 S-line, Quattro, Tip or Manual.

I got what you see below, 18k miles (thing was a 1 year lease return, bought in Dec 2007, and sat with the dealer for all of 08). It has the Technology package as well. I paid $22,800 + all the california bullshiit tax for a total of $24,500 out the door. The windowsticker has it priced at $40,550... though no one ever paid quite that much, I feel I got a deal. The dealer bought the car at auction for $25,400 plus tax.
