    help please, tranny problem?

    Hey whats up,

i drive a 00 s4, pretty much stock - boost gauge, ss, 034 motor and snub mount(s), resonator delete, foglight delete....darintake w/ s-flo...pretty much it.

i've had the car for about a year and i've put..probably 40k miles in a year...yeah i drive back and forth from vegas and san diego pretty frequently for my girlfriend/work. the car currently has appx 130k. planning to do timing belt again soon

So I was driving to the gym this morning and my check engine light came on at a red light. The idle seemed a bit rougher, it was holding 800rpms steady but the car just felt a little shakey. When taking off it seemed to struggle with low rpms, like i was starting in 3rd gear. when it got to 3k and above it seemed to be fine. BUt when i would shift into the next gear, dropping it around 2200rpms, it would struggle again. When I hit 45 i would put it in neutral and coast, it would seem fine. only when i put it back in gear would it struggle like that. also, when i'd be goin around 45 i turned on cruise control and it didnt struggle.

it only happens when i'm accelerating...i'm guessing its something to do with the tranny or along those lines maybe?

Any suggestions would be appreciated, but the check engine light did come on and i really need someone to vag-com and/or help me out if you could. i live in vegas and i know theres probably a whopping 3 guys on the forum that live here too haha

but yeah, any suggestions would be appreciated, thanks

sucks that you dont know anything about cars :(

well anyways, you don't have a transvestite problem as far as i can tell.

most likely you have a boost leak, o2 sensor, or egt problem. use vag-com to find the problem

good luck, and may the horse be with you

yeah im fairly new to the s4 world, i know a fck load about going sideways and 240s and all the nissan nonsense...and i've never had this happen to me before. and switching from those motors to the s4 to work on blows.

i boost fine tho..like it pulls like it normally does...holds 10psi like usual.

yeah shouldnt push the car when cel or whatever...but decided to and yeah, boost is fine.

i posted on the lv boards and no one has responded with a vagcom...so am i ok to drive around? or would you suggest to lay off it until i find a vagcom
