    B5.5 Passat wagon idea?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Im thinking about getting a 2000-2005 b5.5 VW Passat wagon with the 1.8t engine. I want to swap in my K04 turbo, injectors hopefully intercooler and any other parts from my sig that will fit. Anybody have any experience with these wagons? Is it worth getting the Torsen AWD model?

In America you couldn't get a 4motion Passat with a 1.8T, maybe they offered them where you live. Both cars require a K04-015 turbo so the swap is possible. You're going to miss your B6 A4!!!

juju4uofa, you could get Passat + 1.8T + 4mo, however it was special order. I'm not certain if there were ever wagon or stick shift versions, however.

Most of your sig should be transferrable, depending on engine code. The years you specified are AWM engine code. Audi has a different code, so you will need to check which ones match, if any.

In America? Where you live? You do realize San Gabriel is in California...last time I checked, that was still in America.

No experience with those wagons Toast, and I know you want to swap some of your parts into it, but the W8 would be a sweet one to pick up if you could find one. They're pretty damn rare.

Ya i realize San Gabriel is part of america although when i drive around and look at the ethnicity of most of the other drivers i do wonder.

W8 seems like it would be expensive and a maintenance whore and besides i can probably squeeze out the same amount of power by putting my K04 on a 1.8t
Another user posted that his friends W8 got ~205 awhp

Have you visited www.passatworld.com ? Lots and lots of great info there. B5 passat wagons are very nice cars, my ex has one and it was very reliable and spacious. She didnt mod it, but if I had owned it I would have. You can even pick up a somewhat modded car for not too much money.

VW also makes an unbelieveable dog partition for the back, all metal, installs in less than 5 minutes, and rock freaking solid. Its my favorite part of the car. I may custom build one for my A4.

I bet you've never heard of Bay Minette. That's where I'm from and it's part of America too :). Basically, it sounds like you want be getting a 4motion 1.8T unless you ship it over which probably wouldn't be cost effective.
