hey im new to the euro scene and recently purchased my 98a4 1.8t it idles good and drives decent but am wondering if either the bypass valve or n75 valve and maybe the DV is my problem . when i went to hoop up my boost gauge to the vacumm line that runs to the intake manifold the needle on the gauge dropped down to the vacumm section then rose when i got the rpms ups but never entered the boost section. is this the wrong gauge or do you think my bypass valve is shot?? the car boosts but i dont think it pulls as hard as it should and the DV valve doesnt sound all that healthy the car sat for 8 months prior to me getting it. NE help would be greatly appreciate thanks

That gauge is useless under the hood. At idle, the air is in vacuum state thus why the gauge reads below 0; it reads vacuum in inches mercury. It won't boost by revving it; you have to put a load on the motor by driving it, so put the gauge in the car and drive it to see how it boosts.

Thanks i will try that, makes sense, would the n75"J" valve make an improvement on a stock engine?
