My 00 s4 is in the dealership this second getting both o2 sensors, an egt sensor, f-hose, and a ring on the cv boot thats making my abs go off fixed. Warranty is covering both o2 sensors and labor for those and thats it, which sucks. dealership is putting on a samco f-hose that i purchased for free. But i have to pay for egt sensor, and the ring on the cv boot and labor which is going to cost over $1,000 w/ taxes. The dealership is fixing the sensors and intalling the f-hose today/tomorrow so i can head up to the track tomorrow for the first time. what do you guys think? how much would i be saving if i did the egt sensor my self and paid for it, also how much am i saving with the o2 sensors and labor here is $90/hr?

You would probably save a few hundred bucks by doing it yourself. Plus odds are something else is going to need replacing down the line so the sooner you learn to do it yourself the more money you will save.

Im not sure which egt you are replacing, i can never remember which side is bank 1 or bank 2 but if its the passenger side egt, its a piece of cake to replace. 17 mm wrench and its out East to access. so yeah id do that myself the egt though isnt very cheap. but i wouldnt get it from dealer. the cheapest i seen it is at www.genuineaudiparts.com and i think they have them for aroun 210 bucks.

    EGT's - $215 ea from genuineaudi parts
    O2's - $220/set of 2 from vast/zoldman

it shouldn't take more than an hour for o2's and an hour for EGT's, especially if passenger side EGT - that's 20 minutes.

dealer is doing 'warranty work for free' at quite a damn good rate if they charge you $1k. You're not saving a damn thing.
