I would have thought they would comment on the cross country trip. Estimated 0-60 figures, how it pulls to 100,how it sounds, etc. I'm sure they had to run into some car that they pulled on in all those miles :)

I thought is was about $8k - then if you had to upgrade exhaust, et al, it would be close to $15k.

Re: VF Engineering and AWE any new info?

most likely full exhaust and clutch will be necessary for the upgrade.

and then installation of all these parts. you can easily hit 15k.

the clutch i was looking at was $600
installation was just shy of $1000
full dp + exhaust is 2300-3000 depending on company.
    install of that...whatever.
kit is between 8-10k...maybe even 12k.
then you have install of that kit....prolly 2k or so.
obviously you can save some do doing it yourself....but i don't have time
for something like that. so i would just pay. when i was younger i would
be all about DIY. i'm 32 now....i just don't have the time. with my little one
here now. its crazy. and to me...for the 15k...i'd honestly rather just sink
that into upgrading my S4 into an RS4. maybe not be faster than an S/C S4 but still a great car none-the-less.

Re: VF Engineering and AWE any new info?

The last time they gave an update it was stated they would start beta testing on public cars in September. I'd expect that phase of the project to go on for several months, and then you can start to ask for info and release dates. I'm sure we will hear info when it's available.

LOL! Yeah, it's home. I really like it here. Work (Pittsburgh) is an okay commute and nice homes are cheap here. I was able to achieve a very nice quality of life for myself here. I moved here from SoCal and am constantly amazed at how reasonable this is compared to La-La land.

Re: VF Engineering and AWE any new info?

    Hi,

There really has been no further progress to report at this time. Beta kits are being assembled and as soon as they are ready for install, we will begin soliciting candidates for further field testing.

We do not want to tease this forum any further, so please understand that we are avoiding marketing the kit until it is confirmed ready for release. The extreme delays have understandably really ticked off S4 owners, and we do not want to make matters worse.

I am driving the prototype avant almost everyday and it has been trouble free and real blast to drive.

Ok guys, read up a bit before this turns into the 300 posts of "I'm down with beta testing your SC in my S4"

When we are ready, we will be seeking local test cars to us in PA and VF in Southern CA. The kits will be offered at a discounted price in exchange for user feedback/data. Cars will need to be daily drivers in order to accumulate test mileage in the shortest amount of time.

We will make forum announcements when we are ready for interested candidates to contact us.

That is not true at all. I am driving the "test mule" almost daily and it has been performing flawlessly.

However, until we have duplicated this performance on multiple cars, you're not going to hear much from us or VF.
