    Coilover Question

    Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
    I just saw a pair of B&G coilovers on ebay. They are brand new, but the kit is missing some peices. But for the price, I figure get them and then source out the extra peices needed. Can you tell me what else I would need (by observing the photos from the advertisement) for the set? And the average price of the missing peice(s) may help also.Thanks!

    Re: Coilover Question

    Don't bid on them until you're sure you can get the pieces.

    I bought used Bilstein HD struts knowing one was missing a lower mount bushing. No Bilstein distributor could get the parts including their two national distribution hubs. I ended up ordering Energy bushings and having aluminum bolt sleeves turned out on the lathe.

    Re: Coilover Question

    Two things;

    1) There are three front spring collars shown. This one collar looks like the only part missing. Adjustment wrenches aren't shown but they are easy to get and aren't always necessary. I like using the strap wrenches like plumbers use.

    2) 2001 and up usually means B6 fitment since they were 2001 and up in Europe. Suspension listed for a B5 is usually listed as 96-00 or 96-01.

    Re: Coilover Question

    that is definatelly for a B6 chassis A4. I ust installed a set of stassis coilovers on my friends B6 and thats how the rear springs look. On the rear of the B6 the strut is installed separate from the spring. on our B5 the springs actually goes on the the strut, like the front does.

    Re: Coilover Question

    the front will fit, however the rears will not. no spring collar and the strut is too long (b6). plus the bottom link is too wide to fit on the a arm.
    82mm je pistons, scat rods, ported & polished aeb head. gt2871r, atp hi flow manifold (ported). 580cc injectors on custom giac tune. Once you boost, you'll never go back....
