    Weird Vibration?

Hey guys, today on the way to work I was on the highway listening to music as usual when I had to lower the music to pick up a phone call I here this LOUD and ANNOYING vibration coming from the odometer. The sound to be specific is exactly like a dragonfly flipping its wings very rapidly, I don't know how else to describe it. This all started today and even when I was leaving work and coming home the noise persisted. I am not sure at all what this mean's, I have an appointment this week for a service anyway, and I will be sure to mention it...But does anyone know what caused this to happen?

    Re: Weird Vibration?

its funny you and another guy literally posted the same thing with the same description in like 30 min lol. If dragon flys kinda sounds like a squeaky noise then my car does it too. I stick my finger under the wheel and it stops sometimes but i can't figure why its doing it. I took it to service and they couldn't figure it out either. So if anybody could help that would help me out too!

    Re: Weird Vibration?

OK I HAVE A QUICK SOLUTION!

    1. Remove kick plate below steering column

-3x 8 mm bolts hold it in place (one near hood release, one in fuse panel towards the bottom and the last one on the right side of the steering column adjacent to the one by hood release) Now pull the panel straight back towards the drivers seat and it will come right off.

    2. Insulate!

-notice the 2 rectangle shapes molded into the backside of the panel you just removed. There are coresponding flat metal "braces" that protrude from under the steering wheel that fit into these "rectangles." the vibration comes from the metal braces not fitting snugly into the panel and thus grazing it and causing the noise. you must now insert some sort of insulation between the "braces" and the "rectangles" (I cut pieces of an old synthetic foam chamois

    3. Reinstall the newly insulated panel

    -SOUND IS GONE!!

Try it and let me know what you think.

    Re: Weird Vibration?

Yeah I have had vibrations coming from my center console lately, I am getting it taken in soon to see if they can tighten the sucker up.

I just tried what montess2001 did. If this doesn't work, loud music makes the sound go away completely
