sedan/avant suspension

Im wondering what the difference is between the two if anyone knows that would be great. Like why wouldnt the sedan shocks mount to the avant suspension.

The only reason I can think of is that the rear suspension on the sedan, the coil goes over the shock like the front spring/shocks (fact)... however on the avant (only reference I have is my friends B6 Avant) is that the spring/coil and shock are independent and are NOT like the front. I could be wrong with the B5 avant, however.

ok so i searched... i should have done that in the first place, but the only difference is the spring rates in the back according to a different thread I read.

I have had avant coilovers in my sedan for 3 years now....

Seroiusly I think everything else is the same mechanically.

The avant has higher spring rates to compensate for a heavier load in the rear.
