    Crown Audi Mod Friendly?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
After a few recent stale (for a lack of words) experiences at reeves, i am thinking of moving my service over to crown in clearwater (where i originally bought the car). Its only about an hours' drive, so thats no big deal.

Does anyone know how mod friendly crown is? Im only stage 2 revo with a boost gauge, so nothing big. Just wanting to make sure. If you have any experience with them, please feel free to post up. Thanks!

I go there and according to the service dude that i talked to said something to the effect of (or at least this is how i took it) they will not go out of their way to void your warranty, but if something is caused by a mod they will tell you and not fix it for free. If i were you i would call them and ask...thats what i did and they gave me a straight forward answer.

i had kind of a shitty experience at crown.....the service guy was kinda dumb and i could tell he was trying to make some extra money.....saying i used the wrong tranny fluid when i flushed it and they had to redo the whole thing and $650 i would be set.....i told thm no and my car hasnt had a problem since they used the fluid i provided.....stealerships are like picking your own poison

    Re: Crown Audi Mod Friendly?

i'm not a big fan of crown. i took my avant in when it was apr stage 1+ (out of warranty) because i was not boosting at all. they told me the turbo was blown & would cost $X,000 to fix. i told them i didn't want them to fix it. i upgraded to a k04 and took it to my tuner. well, wouldn't you know it?! when the tuner got in there to do the install, he found that the k03 was not blown. it was a problem with my TIP connection. long story short - crown was trying to screw me out of a new turbo install. i read them the riot act and they had no response.

as for reeves, i have had great experiences there. i bought my TTR from them CPO. i got it flashed by apr a couple weeks after i got it. among other things that have been fixed under the CPO warranty are a brand new convertable top and a brand new k04 turbo. this one actually was blown, and though chipped, they fixed it under warranty no questions asked. so far that warranty has covered over $8k in repairs...

you can see why i choose reeves given my experiences... YMMV.
