    Radio SAFE mode

So i was working on putting my short shifter in late one night, and decided to call it. I went out the next morning and realized my car was dead and i left one of my interior lights on.

    Now my radio says "SAFE"

I did some searching and found the procedure to put the code in. I went to my dealer and he popped the head unit out, and took down the vin, and tried calling the audi dealership for the code, but the guy wasnt in so he is going to call me back at some point.

My question is, where in the manual would the code be? There is only 1 page for the radio and all it says is "Take it to an audi dealership if anything goes wrong"

there should be a seperate booklet for which ever radio you have and inside there will be a sticker with the 4 digit code

This is the very reason I just wrote the code in the radio. What is the reality of someone actually stealing one of these. When you get the new code write it on the car somewhere. You may need it again.

it's specifically in the inside front cover of the stereo manual and is on a credit card sized tear out.

I had the same problem. You could have taken it directly to Audi. They did mine in less than 5 mins. and it was free. They also gave me the code so I can put it in myself next time.
