I believe it'll work if you have ANY power going to ur seats, including just heat or lumbar....I believe power S4 seats will plug right into cars with heated seats

    not true.

My 01 had manual seats. I hooked up S4 alcantara seats to my car....and the plugs were there. Just had to plug them in, and it worked.

not the rails. The S4 seats slide right in. The problem you will have is trying to move the seat all the way up + you'll find that there are no threads to screw the front screws into (there is a hole there no threadings like in the S4).

2 things you need to do:

    1. Grind off the front bracket that keeps the seat from moving all the way up (keep in mind you can't put your stock A4 seats back after you do this)

    2. Find an alternative to bolting the front screws of both seats down. I included a pic below showing how I did mine. Two self tapping screws right into the floor.

Other than that....its straightforward and an easy swap.

If you have the power lumbar. It will plug right in. You have to take the front braket off.

Will they hold if you crash your car? I wouldn't trust them and sure wouldn't want to find out

Its not hard powering the seats if your didnt have power. I spliced the power on the seat and ran it. Just make sure you have a 30amp fuse for each seat.

Could you put a high strength nut through the hole and back it with washer and nut to make up for lack of threads. Or what about tapping the hole to next thread size?

I guess that might work if you can get the nut or bolt on the other end of the floorpan.

You'd prob need to have someone weld a plate over the hole, and then drill & tap into that. I opted the easy way out, and just tapped thru right in front of the hole...in 2 places.

    Re: s4 seats in a4??

Yeah, those screws you used won't hold up well in a crash. From an engineering perspective, they just don't have the strength compared to the OEM method of fastening the seat down. Do that at your own risk.
