i searched and found some solid info on the set up themselves but now iam interested in first hand accounts. Does anyone on this forum have the tein basics on their b7?
If so how is the ride? Any suggestions for height settings?

    Re: tein basic coilovers

I have Tein SS on mine, they tend to run a little low, even on the highest setting and are a little too soft for me

    Re: tein basic coilovers

I have it and I like it alot. I don't track, so I was looking for budget coils. IMO it is soft and I wish it was stiffer. However it doesn't bother me much. My gf didnt complain a bit about the ride after I put it on. I have the rs4 sways with the coils and the handling is far better than stock and has less body roll. It rides almost or even more comfy than stock. Only thing is to be sure everything is on tight because I have a clanking in the rears. If you go by the specs in the manual(i did), then your rims(assuming its 17s) will be flush with the fenders after it settles. If you have a system or plan on driving passengers, then I suggest you set the height higher than the manual. Im tucking with passengers.

great for the money and it serves the purpose of getting the height right where you want it perfectly.

yes a bit soft, but do most of us track our audi's or lower it for aesthetics?

like i said, great for the money.
    i love you

Yeah, they seem like the perfect C/O for people who just want the ride height adjustability.
With Tein having been in the import tuner market for a long time, it's also a recognizable name you can trust and they seem to want to expand into the Euro scene with a reliable product such as this.

    Re: tein basic coilovers

I am in the same boat as you. I do want something that will give me a lower ride, As well as perform better in the corners. Most of my driving is freeway, however, on occasion I do like to take it out to the twisties and go for a nice fast technical drive. I am not trying to jack your thread, I am trying to get more info for both of us.

With that said, How is the performance of these coils compared to stock sport suspension?

    Re: tein basic coilovers

man, with that sale, Might as well go ss for the extra performance. I am just worried I will get the basics and regret it for them being too soft.
