    Giac Race Question

I wasn't planning on taking my car to the track anytime soon but the opportunity came up for me to do it for free.

I still need a tune on my car but to me right now it isn't worth the $1200 i was quoted. But here is was i was thinking...

I have a very uncommon setup (see sig), and i am thinking about getting the k03 race file. How much boost is that supposed to run? Right now i am running 20psi, which spikes down to about 16psi at redline. Car runs great, just a little rich. If i get the race file, can i raise the boost more? (I probably wont go over 25psi)

I'm just trying to get the best out of it with what i have right now. Do you guys think its even worth it trying to fuss with all that? Would i maybe get better results with just upgrading my intercoolers?

    Re: Giac Race Question

I would strongly suggest not to turn the boost up anymore even with the race file. GIAC does make a file with boost control but your setup as stated in your username does not apply.

I thought about that. Last time i went to the place i got my flash done they said they only have stage 3, no stage 3-. GIAC does in fact offer a stage 3-? Is the only thing different more boost?

i don't think k03/ko4 hybrids were ever meant to be run on stage3- software which you have no need for. 3- is for ko4's with stock fueling.

get it tune with what you have is your best bet in my opinion

besides most people that have had your setup probally no longer have working turbo's and now rock full k04's

Honestly, just by looking at them side by side, there is very little differance between mine and full k04's. (I do have one K04, not installed). I measured the inlets and outlets on the cold and hot side and you are talking a millimeter at most difference on the inlet and outlet on the cold side. Now i know everything adds up but it is so close that i think i would benefit from the stage 3- software.

Now i agree that getting it custom tuned would be the best, but like i said, that is a ridiculous price. It should not be more than 300-400$ for a tune like this.
