Dietrich RS4 bumper fitted

It's been a busy bank holiday! The Dietrich front end is finally on, complete with genuine RS4 grills. Looks pretty good, fairly oem styled, fit was good too, not to over the top but something a bit different. Closest to genuine rs4 so far, apart from the swage line, which I was gonna remove, but it's not a groove in the bumper, it's more of a step so a lot harder to remove. I did however chop the side vents out so they're functional and not just a naff looking mould added in.

Wow that looks great for an aftermarket bumper....alot better than the reiger. I can see how the entire grill opening is alot lower than the oem rs4, its almost as if they put the rs4 bottom section on a regular s4 bumper on the lower half.

by looking closely at it, it seems the differences beside the swage line is longer vents cutouts and also the lack of swage line under those vents, no headlight washers, other then that it seems to be a bang on knock off. If you removed the swage line, unless there was an OEM RS4 bumpered car parked next too it, I doubt anyone would spot it as a knock off.

It does fit a little odd under one of the headlights cos when i fitted the X-1 intake kit i couldn't quite get the headlight seated far enough back, need to trim a bit off the front edge of the cold air box inside the ingine bay and all will be good.

As for the swage line i was gonna remove it when i 1st ordered it, i thought it was gonna be a groove cut into the fibreglass, but when it arrived it's actually stepped, so the lower part of the bumper actually sits a little further in than the rest so actually a lot harder to remove, otherwise it'd would've been deleted. But still looks good with it still on and does kinda match the line that runs round the rear bumper.

I was also gonna cut in my S4 headlight washers, but as I wanted to sell the S4 bumper as a complete unit to get the most cash for it, I didn't bother. I like it smooth anyway.

yeah, I like that you can keep the fogs too... my jury is still out on the washers though. I might like the RS4's cause they're flush but still operational. But I digress: the cost difference doesn't justify it.

Could prob pick up some rs4 washers and flush them in and still cost less than an OE item, plus it fits easier than shrinking the standard rs4 item. I'm on the look out for some and do just that if I can do it cheap enough, seein as i don't use them very often.

Had/have one of these... Fiberglass leaves in chunks once a rock hits it... Went with an authentic Reiger which is ABS plastic, I will NEVER put anything fiberglass on my car, never have and never will (it came with the car)

I must admit the pics that Dietrich supply don't do the bumper justice. It looks way nicer in person, check here for some more pics of it on another car, the one with the porsche wheels, that's an A4 looking at it. No side skirts etc.

If I could find a better match for the RS4 bumper to mount straight on to a normal A4 B5 front trust me I would have posted it up by now but this is a good rep for the OEM RS4 bumper in my eyes plus this is a mix of Fiberglas and some other flexible material so you should be good to fit.

You know, that sucks. I was thinking about getting this bumper but it's fiberglass. I would get a reiger but I can't deal with bad fitment. I WANT an OEM RS4 but there are no shops in my area that would be able to fit it and I don't have the time to take it far away to a place that can do it. I have a huge chunk missing from my bumper now.

yes it will fit an A4 and S4 but you will have to use your bumper iron and bond it to that and make bracket to mount it to the sides.
