    y bother posting?

There is very few actual cold air intakes out there, I mean that actually work very well, I think the best mod is to buy the "wall" wich blocks off the intake then buy a "cold air intake" from one of the manufactures. By wall you can search there is something like an intake cover out there that seperates the turbo from the intake very well.......Theres logs and actual proof showing that this mod works very well. If anyone knows of an easy "cold air intake system" let me know also!!!

Just came back from garage to figure that. I want to make a clean and reliable intake boxthat will not cut or crack something.

i wouldnt spend any money on whats out there. Make yourself a nice ram air intake and be done with it, coupled with a good intercooler and your set.

with an open element filter you will get very inconsistent MAF readings.

Unless you remove your headlight, it's just going to be pulling in hot air.

Re: Looking for real cold air intake

well then it woudlnt be considered a ram intake with the head light inplace. Ram intake is best for track/drag cars. If your just looking for an intake stick with stock.

Agreed. the factory intake system is a true cold air intake. and a ram air intake system as well. Marc uses the factory airbox and filter in his blue car and ran a 10 sec pass with it. (at least he told me he did) Darintake IMO can throw a lot of water and debris into the airbox. Factory FTW.

Re: Looking for real cold air intake

how about you get a hood like this, blower and all:

    but in all seriousness,
I have a FMIC, and thus have no real use for where my side mounts used to be. What if I made some tubing that runs from the bottom of the airbox to the side grille intake in between some piping. I'd have to plug it for wet days, but I think you'd get some turbulence free ram air there, and wouldn't have to remove a headlight or modify that at all to do it.

Re: Looking for real cold air intake

If you have upgraded ICs there isn't a real necessity for them as thats the point of them.

Side note, I got pulled over 2 nights ago cruising under the suspicion of having NOS.
It helped that my airbox was stock, and he didn't see anything out of the ordinary (Darintake).

Re: Looking for real cold air intake

Thanl's guys. The reason is my MAF is too big to fit in stock air box now. Things going well if im rolling but would get worse if i'm stuck in heavy trafic lights and try to wot. Mike asked me to do something with my intake this month. So i'll try to do something to fit maf with stock air box which is the easyest and cheapest way for now. I'll take a look of x1 like bastard mensionned.
