Question A couple simple questions for you 2.0TQM experts...

    1) Does ESP really do much in our cars in dry weather considering we're rather low on power?

    2) Does something like an APR exhaust really provide any performance boost you can feel or does it not matter since our engine's are so small and dont really put out much?

I'd really appreciate some answers/opinions if you have them!

ESP definitely limits the cars capabilities. If you drive around in an open parking lot, you will definitely feel ESP kicking in if you push your car. It limits the power when a tire starts to break loose.

Exhaust will make a difference in throttle response. You will feel it even more if you add more mods down the road - CAI and test pipe compliment each other well and allow the engine to breath much better.

it sounds like your car is stock, but just with a chip, take a turn from a dead stop and see if esp doesn't flash about 9 times

Does the exhaust provide any gains on its own like it would with a big engine NA car?

I have Revo flash as far as power mods are concerned so far.. but with my Hotchkis RS4 sway bars and PSS9s, a sharp turn on the gas provokes violent shaking from the little electronic gremlins trying to hinder my fun. So even though we aren't fast, the ESP can still interfere a whole lot on dry pavement!!

Just saying this now if you get a test pipe, YOU WILL FAIL YOUR EMISSIONS TEST.

If you go BT down the road, the cat-back exhaust will def. come in handy. You will see more of the "gain" here than with just a chip and intake.

Sounds good to me and it gets some good butt-HP too!

Not in Washington No visual inspections... You do need to have the APR Test Pipe file to keep the check engine light off. All they do here is plug in to the diagnostic port and scan for codes, then you're out the door with a pass.

Definitely will not go with a test pipe. Not interested in being loud at all. Just want to relieve some of tha tback pressure and maybe add a little sound. From what I've seen the APR is the most subtle.
