18" winter wheels

Well im sold my stock 17" 9-Spokes today, and im ordering 18" RS6 5 spoke wheels today in 18x8.5 30ET , and well as of now i have 18x9 35ET summer wheels with 235-40-18 tires, do you guys think i could get away with 245-40-18 on the RS6 wheels without rubbing? since the wheels arnt as wide? let me know. and also, do you guys recommend any places for replica audi wheels besides, tires.com and places like lakeshore? anything else? ive seen alot of sites for them, just asking if you guys know of any others? thanks.

think raderwerks has some rs6 reps. i had rubbing issues on my mrr gt1s which were 18x8.5 et35. the rubbing only occurred in the front though, and it may have had been an alignment issue which ate up the inside of the tire. regardless i dont think i personally will run higher then 235s anymore

Well i have raderwerks wheels right now on my car, you know which ones they are, but i think im going to get the RS6 reps from tires.com, i need 5 of them, also, my car needs aligned also, my inside tires are worn down to nothing, and i only had them on the car for 3,000 miles, rofl, anyways, i think i will stay with 235, thanks, anyone else?

isn't the old rule of thumb that too wide is too wide for snow? or something like that

When I drove Saabs upstate NY in snow, wider profiles didn't do as well, so I used narrower snow tires, fwiw.

Im running 245/40/18 on my R8 reps 18x8.5 ET35 No rubbing problem..

PMR , my car is lowered, but as of now with the 18x9 with 235-40 there is no rubbing, but i think i will go with 235

I had the exactly the same setup and had a few rubbing issues on sport suspension. ET35 is ideal on a narrow body A6.

Nice choice, it was my top choice whebn yuo had that winter wheel thread going. With 8.5 width and 30Et, I would stick to 235's adn in bad weather, wider is NOT better... those are your winter wheels;)

discounttire is cheap too ont he RS6 reps... like $135 per Wheel, just 5 or 6 ;)

So what tires to folks like for winter? Dunlop Winter Sports and Blizzaks seem to be favored by Tirerack. Others?
