Fuel Filter

Any body know what type of fuel filter a 03 A4 1.8T Quattro is using. I've read people saying "make sure you get the right one". I dont want to take it to the dealership, and i want to try and do it myself. Any info will be a big help.

Vin split in 2003 it can be either 8E0 201 511 J or 8E0 201 511 D

The split is at 065000 so if the last six numbers in your vin are greater than 065001 you will use the "D"

They cost about $40

how often do these need to be changed on the A4? i just bought an 04 and it has 43000 miles.

OK thanks, the last 6 numbers are 339853 so i guess i will use 8E0 201 511 D. Thanks again..
