I think that the reason for this is that it is a waste of money to trade a car like that in so it becomes more important to sell it privately to recoup some of the money that was spent to make it a Stage 3.

Then it is hard to sell a Stage 3 car to people who don't know what it means so, it makes the most sense to sell it on a site where people are looking for a car like that. (Plus the ads are free.)

I would agree with Brett... I'm lucky because my parents helped me out bigtime when my K03s popped right before starting college. So most of it (99.9%) :) was paid for by them for the most part. I agree though a lot of people say shit, I just bought this car for maybe 10-17K depending on what you got, and then they're spending minimum of 7K to do stage 3. There are lots of things that happen when the motor pull happens such as timing belt and clutch/flywheel, motor tranny mounts, all of those items are "a good time to upgrade" and it ends up costing lots and lots! I think you either build a stage 3 to sell it OR you build it to never let it go like I am

well alone the turbos cost 2600 with hardware, i had the old pricing back in december... i then did clutch for 500 resurfaced OEM flywheel for 200... then motor and tranny mounts from 034, 300 bucks. 034 snub was 80 or whatever. timing belt kit for 350 etc.... i mean its just all the "little things" that happens when your motor is out that people feel the need to replace. Then fueling alone is almost 2 grand from whoever you go with...

btw man, how did the FMIC work out ?
