    Tranmission fluid leak

96 A4 Q with the V6. 5 Speed automatic transmission. Transmission fluid came pouring out last night...no warning. Barely made it home. Get under it. I see no leaking in the cooling lines that run from the radiator. Fluid all over the pan...way up front on the tranny. I might guess front seal, but isn't that differential (gear) oil up front right behind the fly wheel? And a seal would start leaking gradually, not all of the sudden....right?

Any ideas of where fluid would just suddenly drop out of the car?

    Re: Tranmission fluid leak

your transmission is now pretty screwed, i'm betting the pump is damaged at this point seems to be happening on these cars more and more often lately.
Mine seemed to be the first with the failure and now i've seen at least 3 more on audiworld.

here's what i'll bet you'll see when you pull it apart.
