Just wondering about ending lease early

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
    Hi,
I leased an 08 A4 2.0T Tip since December 07. I dont drive often; at about 4000 miles. The contract is 36 months with 10,000 miles per year. It's about a lil over $400 a month with the audicare option. How much would Audi fine if i terminate the lease early? What if I decide to lease another new vehicle such as A3, will there be room to negotiate? Is swapping lease a good idea?

I dunno bud, I think your best bet would be to sign the lease off to someone else... If you try and terminate your payments through Audi Financial early they will shove every possible penalty & charge they can think of your way... My dad's friend had an '07 a6 4.2L that he was like 7 months away from finishing leasing, wanting to swap for the RS4 (since there so cheap and the price markup on them is gone) and Audi wanted to charge him I think $4k apx and refused to give him back the down payment, or the security deposit, nor were they willing to understand.. They basically just told him that in order to get the RS4 and turn in the a6 he would have to start up a new contract with them and they couldn't (or more like wouldn't) change the car on the lease... They had to end one contract and start another... Pain in the rear... Good luck tho, and keep me posted on your verdict and what Audi says to you...

Also a4 is a great car, I envy you since I have the b6 3.0 and I really wanted to get the b7 2.0t or 3.2 at the time when I bought my A4 but they were to high priced and I settled for mine.... But I cant disagree with you, for the little you drive an A3 wouldda been nice! :)

I doubt they'll let you do it without forking over a good deal of cash, they don't want you playing musical chairs with a single lease.

Have you looked into http://www.swapalease.com you can transfer and take over leases there and they handle all the paperwork with Audi so you don't penalized. With that low mileage and payment it should go fast!

Re: Just wondering about ending lease early

I had an 07 GTi financed through VW Credit (Same as Audi Credit).
I had my car for 13 months in a 36 month lease when I decided to upgrade to the Audi A4. The dealership traded my car in and went directly into the A4 without any hassle. The thought behind this is, the A4 is alot more money than my GTi, so they were getting more money from me being in the Audi versus the VW.
I think you have to put a full year into your lease terms before trading it without any penalties.
However, if you are staying within the Audi family, I think you will be ok to do it. Talk to your sales rep and let him give you the details.
Also, you can call audi financial and ask them the details.
    Good luck.
Keep me posted as I want to possibly do the same thing on the new A4.
    Thanks
    Tim
