    Alarm Help

    hey everyone,

So last night my car got broken into. I dont want to talk about what is gone, but lets just say it was enough to really really piss me off. Now we are thinking about cameras, and motion sensing light and motion detectors for outside.

Anyways where I live is very safe so for this to happen just means I cant be in denial anymore.

I need a car alarm system that works with the audi system? Since I now have to pay for all of this missing property because of my high deductible I would like to get something that works, but I dont need all of the extra stuff.

Anyone have a system on there car. The assholes broke my glass to get in the car so I need something with a motion or glass sensor. I would also like a system that could page me when something was happening.

My other idea was to somehow add shock or motion or glass sensors to my audi alarm. Is that possible? If so please give me details.

    Thanks

Not sure if this will work with Audi, but I know from experience their alarms are spot on. I'm sure others will chime in.

    How about the Ravelco? http://www.ravelcoaz.com/id30.html

Apparently no car has ever been stolen with that alarm. FYI I've never heard of this before a little google search tonight, could be bunk for all i know, but there are nationwide distributors.

I have Crime Guard 750i5 in my other car…it has 2 stages of radar motion detection, first stage a chirp when someone is near the car and stage 2, alarm goes off when someone is in the car. Then it has a glass brakeage sensor and tilt sensor if someone bumps your car.
I don’t know if it will work with the Audi alarm, but I don’t see a reason why it shouldn’t, almost every aftermarket alarm should work with the factory one.

    Re: Alarm Help

    Well, 2 things....

    1) No matter what alarm is in your car, if some one wants in they will get in.

    2) Don't leave anything in the car that is worth stealing and especially not in view.

The only thing an alram is really good for is a deterant. If they see something of value in the back seat of your car no matter what alarm is in there they will just break the window, grab it and be off before anyone even notices or even cares. Even if you get paged it's only going to tell you that you're car was broken into and I am willing to guess you will get more false alarms then real alarms.
