    k04 turbo whine

Driving around (50miles) before i gave it a little gas in third give (0.5-0.7 bar) and heard a little turbo whine. As soon as i heard the sound i let off the gas.

The car seems to run completely fine, no smoke, no cel, no other sounds.

Is turbo whine normal while the turbos are broken in?

Is there anything else I should check?

How much louder are k04s than k03s, i'm guessing not that much.

    Thanks

the whine is noticeable, but as i said, as soon as i heard the sound, i got off the gas. Its just a a sound that wasnt the same as my k03s. I am still breaking in these turbos and i didnt want to push them hard at all.

What kind of break in procedure do you recommend?

I'm running piggie pipes, borla exhaust, awe fueling set to electronic boost controller to 19psi. These turbos just seem louder.

    Re: k04 turbo whine

the turbos are good to go from the box I certainly have never waited. The only thing that needs a break in is the clutch, and k04's certainly sound louder than k03's. Welcome to the world of being paranoid at every little whistle or sound your car makes!

extremely paranoid, this sound could be a whistle, i've been listening to samples to try and find out what it most closely matches

    Re: k04 turbo whine

i made a few more runs this morning and spent about a half hour warming up the car up and switch to the 93 tune.

The only time the turbos had a little bit of whine/high spool sound was at 1.6Bar=23.4psi the car sounded alot better.

Whats the word on WOT K04 turbo spool sounds?
