Both are the same. Get something with a 400 cpsi and up (cells per square inch) catalysts so you don't throw a check light.

I bought GHL Cat Back and wanted their HFC and they wanted over $400 for it so I went with an alternative.

i bought mine from labree. They have 2 different ones. One that is guaranteed to pass smog, and one that doesn't. I think the only difference is the size.

    Re: Tantrunwerks or Labree

It was $280 shipped to NY for me. $250 listed on thier site and $30 shipping (link). It should cost a little extra to ship across the border though. When I talked to the owner, he said he no longer makes 300cell HFCs. Only 400cell. And I did get a CEL for my cat, got it scanned (OBD II scanner from Autozone), cleared it and it never came back. But my readiness code is not sufficient when scanned with Vag Com. I am going to do the fouler mod to see if that can have it ready for inspection. I know that it clears the CEL, but I don't know about the readiness for inspection.

    Re: Tantrunwerks or Labree

Readiness for the Catalyst always Passes even if you have a CEL for it. You can check it in your VAG under "Readyness" in the Engine Module.

    Re: Tantrunwerks or Labree

I have no CEL but there is not readiness for the cat on the Vag Com. I have the nonfoulers with 1/4" drilled insides, but can not get the damn secondary 02 sensor off. There was no grease applied to it when my new ones were placed in, and the thing is on there rather snug. I used like 1/4 can of PB Blaster on it, and still no budge. I made a thread for assistance, but not one reply. I also requested confirmation about an oil leak.

I also went to a mechanic shop to see if they can try and get it on. The guy there is a big enthusiest and told me that one fouler should be sufficient enough. Should I place 1 or 2? He is going on vacation, so if I can not get the sensor off by the time he returns, I am just going to see if he can install it for me.

Edit: To the OP, sorry for the thread jack, but I am about to go and Vag my car again to check for readiness. Inspection for my car ends in Otcober. I will PM you, Nebone22, in a couple minutes.

I've had it since 2005 and it hasn't thrown a code yet.
