    2 very important things...

    1) What do I need to get to remove the front plate. I see there is a cutout and the plate frame is attached to that. Do I just remove this and replace it with a new one? If so, how? What part do I need?

    2) How the F*&^ do I clean the rails and door flares? They are milky and spotty. Water and soap doesnt do it. Wax didnt do it. WTF?

    Help?

The front plate insert you can buy genuinevwaudiparts.com - I forget the part number but did the same thing when I moved to FLA. The guy there CRAIG is a great guy and Im sure hell find the part number quickly.

For cleaning the bottom bars - you may also want to go to audiworld and look in the car detailing forum for tips.

My allroad does not have this problem but Ive seen several posts relating to cleaning them

Important is not to use anything abrasive as I believe that they have a protective coating

    Welcome to allroad world!

Now you need to get chipped, bigger sway bars, and a Kufatec/DLO Home Dock ipod solution / RNS-E (if not already in the car) , bluetooth adapter.

Chris, if I'm not mistaken, the door blades and roof rails are just polished and not clear coated so you could use some Mothers aluminium polish on those pieces.

    Congrats on the allroad!

EDIT: I just stumbled upon this thread today that has a good amount of info on the aluminium trim cleaning: Thread.

THANK YOU! I am going to place the order. Can you tell me one thing? It says its primer and ready to paint. On the Allroad, is this matching the bumpers so no paint needed?

I had the parts guys to a little more digging into things and this part does come with the OEM finish, so it shouldn't need painted.

    Update...

I am told the post above is incorrect. I got the filler plate today and its just primed.

I cant be the only one who has tried to replace this. Can I get one in the OEM finish? If not, does anyone know the paint code for the bumpers and flares? This is turning out to be more expensive than i would like to simply take the plate frame off.

If you ordered the plate filler through us, please let me know and we can get it back if you'd like to return it. The parts department informed me that piece did come in the factory color, if that is not the case, just let me know and we can get a return process started if you would like.

Apparently these pieces are not available in the OEM finish, it sounds like they will need painted to match. You should be able to find the color code for the car either on the sticking in the door jam or in the trunk.

I apologize for any confusion and please let me know if you have any other questions.
