Should I get a PC or just wax/polish by hand?

New to this, so trying to make a decision on a kit. I don't want to spend a ton of money, but I can splurge a little on this.

I will be getting my car professionally detailed to remove holograms and swirl marks coming up.

I plan to get an Adams kit, but cant decide on either the one with the PC or the Essential Detailing Kit. W/o the PC is obviously a little cheaper...and ive never used one before. Any thoughts? Worth it? Can I detail effectively by hand? Better for a newbie? I would want to buy some washing products either way. Thank u!

Get a PC or Flex it will speed things up and give you much better results.

The dilema I am having is, I want alot of the products in the Adams detail package...like all the basic wash stuff. Should I start with that, then get a PC? Is one maybe better for a beginner? Or is it best to start off with that kit? I just dont wanna mess anything up, never done it before...

the adam's kit is a great kit to start with for sure.

Phil, can I get that kit from you as well? I see what I think is the same one on your site, but it looks more expensive? Does it have something the one on the Adams site does not have? Let me know!

sure thing, adam no longer carries the same exact kits that we have.

they differ a bit but I don't recall what it was.

yes you can have the same kit but you have to let us know in the comments section.

Okay, im just a little confused still. I compared the two kits, side by side...the only differences look to be:

Your site kit has a slightly bigger bucket? 5 gal over 4.25 from Adams
Their site kit includes the DVD and reference card.

Other than that, identical, but yours is $189 and from their site it is $159....

Id love to buy from you, but have to justify that extra $

That is the truth. Hand polishing/waxing is such a PITA, takes forever, and doesn't yield the results of a machine.

IMHO you just jump in on the PC/Menzerna group buy that Phil announced recently, get a few extra towels and be set. That will maintain the finish on your car for a loooong time, you get a ton of product with Menzerna.

The group buy looks pretty good for sure...I just want alot of that other washing and quick detail products at all. Not to mention, im still not sure of my ability to use a PC hah. I will just be getting the holograms out of my car after the dealer had improper technique...lord knows I dont want to mess it back up. What is the difficulty level on one of these things?
