    How to remove ashtray door?

The door only opens half way, I think a coin fell behind and is blocking it. Anyone had this happen?

Re: How to remove ashtray door?

assuming youre referring to the front one... in the half way open position squeeze the top part of the trim and the lower portion of the ashtray door, and pull the top portion (trim portion) towards you with your fingers.

Re: How to remove ashtray door?

Yes, the front ashtray in front of the shifter. I tried what you said and the trim wouldn't separate. Is that a way to remove the entire door or just the trim?

Re: How to remove ashtray door?

that is just to remove the trim... you could remove the whole ash tray by removing the shift surround and then unscrewing and pulling it out... but its easiest just to pull out the trim...

    maybe this helps:

if youre still having issues, we could meet up im in nyc... i could get the trim off in a few seconds, or the ashtray out in just a few minutes.

I had a hell of a time getting my ashtray trim off (I'm getting my trim wrapped in CF)...

Re: How to remove ashtray door?

I removed the shifter surround and managed to pull the ashtray assembly out somewhat. I couldn't get it out past a certain point and wasn't able to get to whatever is blocking the door from opening all the way. Any ideas on what else I can do?

radio keys in the slots of the radio... pull out radio, then iirc two bolts hold in the hvac unit then pull out then slide the ashtray up and out.

youre right, i just did mine today... i was confusing the two 8mm screws that were holding in the ash tray, the hvac just pushed right out.
