Tiptronic S-mode problem

Herrooooooo. I've been having this problem ever since I got my car that when I'm in S-mode and I go WOT, sometimes (completely randomly) the RPMs jump all the way up and the car barely moves. It has happened from a complete stop or from a roll. Is it just the tiptronic trans being stupid and downshifting too low? If so why would this happen from a complete stop? Hopefully someone knowledgeable can chime in and give me a better idea what's going on. Thanks.

It only happens in Sport mode? That sounds like electronics issues. Can you shift the car through all the gears in Tip mode?

if ur past 5k rpm's u'll feel 0 power. And i think with a tip our turbo spools as it feels like sometimes it gives power and at times it doesn't.

Yup, things work normal in D and tiptronic mode. I'll admit the shifting sucks in tip (it'll shift about 2 seconds after I tell it to), but I've heard this is just an issue with the way they set things from the factory. I'm too lazy to vag-mod it.

Oh I know. My friend who drives a twin GT28RS 300zx was taking a ride with me and when he saw my boost drop off he thought something was wrong haha. I had to explain to him that a K03 isn't going to hold boost until red-line.

But the needle will whip from 2K RPMs to almost red-line and there won't be any power at all when this happens. I have a CPO warranty, so I'm not sure if I should bother taking it in for this or not. I wanted to see if maybe it was happening to other people's cars or not.

my car does that to be honest, if i gun it till it shifts into 2nd it wont have any power it'll just make noise.

my parents did that a couple times. some sort of sensor was replaced in the tranny and it hasnt happend since

Well I want to update this thread because I think I may have figured out the problem. I said before that it doesn't seem to matter what gear it's in, however, after screwing around today I think it only happens when I'm in S mode and in 2nd gear. What I believe happens is that when I stomp the gas it down shifts to 1st, which for some reason makes barely any power at all throughout most of the RPM range, flies to redline, then hits 2nd again where it actually starts to make power.

So, to alter the question and direct it towards tiptronic stage 1 people, does your first gear lose power extremely early (well before 4500 RPMs)?

^^oh this simplifies it all, first gear is useless by the time the turbo builds enough pressure to get moving 1st gear is over, not literally but u know what i mean. First gear finishes so fast that the power coming from 3500 RPM up to about 5000RPM's moves so fast u barely feel it, it is like slow-pull for .05sec-slow-shift.
