need new tires? what you guys recommend?

2008 audi s6 with balding contisport contact 2, the stock tire to come with the car, they are sized 265/35 r19
treadlife is really dissapointing with these tires as with nearly 15k miles and they are spent, what type of tire besides continental would you recommend that is not extremely pricey?
these stock ones are 293 per corner, and possibly going to get eh michelin ps2's for 369 a corner but thats gonna be castration at the register....
any feedback is greatly appreciated

I went with Yokahama Advan sports in the same size for my A6.... haven't got many miles on them yet but so far, so good. I chose them for the very good reviews they got on Tire Rack's site and not too pricey:

Have you done any comparison @ Tire Rack or Discount Tire?

Yokohama ADVAN Sport or Bridgestone Potenza RE050A would get my vote for the $$

Tire Rack has the best price for those (around $290) they are Summer performance tires

I just checked out tire rack options in your size....and you really don't have many options besides the top-tier brands. I was going to recommend you go with some Kumho MX's for price and performance.

im looking for all season tires, this car does trips to the mountains occasionally, wouldnt be suprised if it ends up seeing snow, so no hardcore summer tires, just something along the same lines as the ps2 or stock tires, but just not contis

Stay away from Dunflops and Pirelli.

They're both total bricks and slicker than snot - especially when they get even remotely damp.

I searched long and hard for tires for my car. I needed something allseason and had a very hard time deciding. Eventually I had it narrowed down to the Bridgstone Potenzas and The goodyear F1 allseasons. I choce Goodyear cause they came out a little less expensive, plus Bridgestone had some trouble a few years back and I still dont trust em. Anyways. I have been loving my Goodyear F1's They kick ass on dry, and I dont even notice the wet when it rains.

Ask me again in a few months and I will tell you about the snow :)
