    get smog done with SSautochrome?

    Hi all,
    i would like to get some info on getting smog with SSautochrome downpipe and exhaust. what kind of cat converter do i need? will i pass smog with just replacing the resonators on the SSautochrome downpipe? do i need to relocated the O2 bungs on there?

    do you have a cat in there right now? Any CEL? Most places will fail you on the visual for certain parts, and an aftermarket downpipe certain will raise some red flags.

    I dont have cats at this moment. Im going to cut the resonators out and replace with cats.
    however, im not sure what kind of cats do i need, i was told that i cant use regular cats since the car is OBD2. is there certain spec of the cat that i need to follow?

    More than likely you will not pass with no cats, especially a visual inspection. I don't know if your technically allowed to move where the cats go, so I would think it would need to go in the same spot it came from (aka in the downpipe).

    Do you have the stock downpipe? It's probably easiest to either swap that back in, or purchase one and swap it. Should be cheaper than buying new cats and swapping them into your system. A little bit of work every 2 years, but I think a better alternative than hacking up your current setup.

    totally off topic but how do you like your SSautochrome Dps?

    did they fit ok?

    i have a set that im selling but if they are decent then ill just keep them.
    what are your impressions?

    some places only check for codes being thrown. Thats how it was when I did it in Vegas. I might of got a lazy ass tech.lol.

    Nevada's emissions test is vastly different from ours here in Cali. the techs here are super anal.
