    Re: quick question

There is actually quite a few differences. Engine vibrates louder in the 06 which they fixed in the 07 model, the packages are different ( convience for 07 and premium +technology for 06). For the technology package for 06 you get memory seats but for the conviences package for 07 you get paddle shifters. There are a couple of other differences but those are the ones that I could think of off the top of my head.

    Re: quick question

The biggest thing for me is that 2006's came with the Audi Care package included in the price, so you basically get the BMW-style deal of free maintenace for 4 years/50k miles. I believe it was the ONLY year they did this one, and don't think 2007's come with this included; you'll have to pay extra for it basically.

All options aside, this was the main point for me, as scheduled maintenance stops are hundreds of $$'s. I didn't even know about the engine vibration difference, but now that you mention it rayiish, I do notice it has a rumble to it that will make a few panels on my interior vibrate a bit (especially in reverse). Nothing terrible as long as it isn't going to cause problems down the road, and it wouldn't ever deter me from buying the same exact car again knowing about it.

What was the revised solution for this? Was it only on the MT or on the Tip as well? Part numbers anyone?

Kind of a moot point, but 05.5's came with this as well. The Audi Care is definitely a great thing. I still have another 6 months before mine runs out or I get it dropped because of mods... It is really nice bringing in your car for major services and walking out without spending a dollar. However, they still charge for oil changes which I don't think BMW does.

    Re: quick question

2007 has better mechanicals, but 2006 has the free scheduled maintenance which is great and does include oil changes in the maintenance. 2006 has a FULL under seat cubby and the radio control on the steering wheel is UP to go to the next radio station and down to go to the previous, not the crappy reverse order like in 2007+. 2006 has the ugly cassette with cd changer radio BUT you can buy a 10 buck cassette adapter and voila you have an ipod or mp3 cell phone adapter. you may have a more updated dv and fuel pump and cams with the 07, but they will be replaced under warranty anyway if they fail in the 2006.

    Re: quick question

AudiCare is included with 2006? because my dealer actually didn't mention that to me at all and i believe they asked me if I wanted to purchase this option.

    Re: quick question

Yes 06 was the last year that they included service in the warranty. They don't charge me for oil changes because it is in the service book. but if you go inbetween the scheduled services for oil changes they will charge you. Rayiish, i would check with your dealer and ask them again. if they don't say anything call Carousel Audi in MN and ask them. Maplewood didn't say anything to me but Carousel told me It was included. I think it also depends on the "Date in Service" for your car!

    Re: quick question

Yep, 100% positive of the AudiCare, and I had the same thing happen Rayiish; my financier was a complete dirtbag.

The salesman told me about the AudiCare, but when I went into the financier's office to finish the paperwork, I kinda casually mentioned how happy I was that the cars come WITH that, kinda like BMW does. The financier immediately backpedalled on that and said "Wait, wait, no, that's not right." He then blamed the salesman and the fact he didn't know what he was saying because ENGLISH WASN'T HIS FIRST LANGUAGE, and was getting his wording confused....DISGUSTING. He even tried to sell me a Platinum warrantly, and I looked it over and said "why would I need this if the car is CPO?" He was like "OH YEAAAA, THATS RIGHT.....you're car is CPO, my mistake." Yea, your damn mistake asshole, get off my wallet!

Luckily, through the quality individuals on this forum and a reliable/trustworthy service tech, I corrected this sleazebucket and brought my car in for the 25k mile service without being charged a dime. If you are at all curious, have your VIN # handy and call Audi of America, they have extremely nice phone attendants that will answer any questions you have about your specific car.

Also, it IS correct that AudiCare doesn't include EVERY oil change you need to do, but they DO change your oil/fluids during scheduled stops. As long as you time the in-between oil changes so you'll need one by the time the next scheduled maintenance comes up, you're golden.
