    2006 3.2 mods

I've searched extensively but only find performance mods specifically for the 2.0t..., of course, the majority of the b7 members seem to be 2.0T owners, so it is expected. I know there are chips, intakes and exhaust systems (but not much else for simple improvements) for the 3.2l A4, however, I haven't read any experiences from the few members here that have the V6. I am just looking for some feedback/options...not quite ready to jump in. I bought the car used and it will be up for some maintenance soon (Timing belt and such), but as I go along, I'd like to have options other than just OEM parts.

If you have a link that I've missed, I'd appreciate it.

    Thnx.
    Dave

    Re: 2006 3.2 mods

EVOMS makes an intake, you have to make a custom exhaust, though I have seen one person custom fit a B6 3.0 milltek to his B7. Don't think there is a chip yet

Yeah, seems everything is custom. I am assuming that the production of this model's performance parts just doesn't add up financially, for the manufacturers, based on the number of owners and their willingness to mod the 3.2. No chip?

if you search for 3.2 performance mods you'll see a thread i started a few months ago. there are a few suggestions in there, but truthfully not many.

    Re: 2006 3.2 mods

Looks, suspension, braking, ect are all nearly the same so you can mod your 3.2 in those areas easily. Performance wise all you can really do is add an intake and exhaust. Which will mainly change the sound rather than give you any useable gain.

    Re: 2006 3.2 mods

I believe their are some chips for the 3.2, the name slips my fingers right now...but the performance gain is very minimal for the price. Other performance is just, intake, exhaust and maybe some custom headers.

    Besides that, its all show

    Re: 2006 3.2 mods

here you go... pulled this out of the old thread:

For an exhaust the cheapest would be to get any one made for the B6 3.0 or B6 S4 as they fit our cars. Or you can go new and get one from milltek for like $1200 from KMD tuning. And then there is custom which would be the cheapest option. As far as an intake(which is only good for sound,no HP gain) you can go with carbonio which you have to custom fit or evoms (easy bolt-on)from namotorsports.com ($300). As far as a chip, you can go either unitronic which is +15hp and +15tq for around $350(not really worth it) or you can go with speedtuning.com which offers +25hp and +30tq for $350 which is worth it but it hasn't been proven(no dyno, nobody has bought it).

and here is the rest of it:

    http://www.audizine.com/forum/showthread.php?t=215676

let me know if you find anything worth buying! we can do a group buy. hahaha.

    Re: 2006 3.2 mods

I would really like some companies to start coming out with performance mods for the 3.2, but you must remember that with the 2.0T's they can just take the power from the turbo. Also, I wonder if the same brake upgrades for the 2.0T's will work on the 3.2's?

    Re: 2006 3.2 mods

Wetteraur Chip, AWE B6 Downpipes and Catback S4 fit the A4 3.2 and Evoms intake. With those mods that could put the 3.2 at about 285HP give or take.

I have a 3.0(B6) AWE exhaust installed on my 3.2. What will downpipes do? Sorry if this sounds like a stupid question.

    Re: 2006 3.2 mods

Really? Im still skeptical as to how much difference that little change in stats can make. Also, is there any way to remove the speed limiter by vag, or is a chip (for the 3.2) the only option?

Not only that, my friend's TT 3.2 is chipped and the throttle response and power delivery is so much better though he only picked up about 10ish HP

    Re: 2006 3.2 mods

you dont have to customize 3.0 exhausts
you can use S4 intakes with a small bit of cutting
chips give almost no HP, just quicker throttle response and remove governor
    suspension is available
    brakes available
    etc

I would be very interested in mods for my 3.2, but since i have no background in cars and am by no means a mechanic i have no idea what or how to coax more power from an engine =p

    Re: 2006 3.2 mods

I used to have a 2005 G35 with the M6 package (298 hp) and that V6 was a 3.5 litre. I checked out all the forums for mods on that car, however, with the typical stuff (intake, exhaust, etc.) the most you could squeeze out of that car is probably and extra 15 hp. It seems that is would take serious work and $$$ to get serious gains. I guess the 3.2 litre is near its top limit for NA...if a chip, intake & exhaust MAY get you an extra 20-30 hp, that might be it. I know guys that are looking at port polishing and other in depth work, but why bother for a few extra hp. You'd be better off making the car lighter and increasing your 0-60 times in that respect. In the meantime, if engine performance products arise, please post them...
