Used Bosch 386 Injectors > Cleanable?

Yo dudeski's. I was looking in the Classifieds at some used 386 injectors for a 1+ APR upgrade with 10 or so thousand miles on em. Whats the scoup on buying used injectors, can I soak em before install in something to clean them really good so they are like brand new or should I just get some new ones?

I dont know if I believe that the gas treatment will work great on our cars. It has worked for me on your standard american crap (ford, chevy, etc) running 87 octane, but I dont know about my Audi...

I don't think you would have any problems with used injectors. I got mine used on AZ and went to a local injection specialist anf got them flow tested for $30. And they said if the flow was off, they could clean them in a ultrasonic bath or something for $20 each. So basicly for $230 = gravy

Or get them from manguyen brand new for $340 ish

Thats kind of what I figured, but I was curious with others experiences with them. Ive been pushing out a lot of mods lately and Im running out of money. :-(

Just flush the inlets out with some carb cleaner. 10k miles is nothing.

I've been playing around with "in tank" fuel systems cleaners and the two that works great are:

Seafoam and Redline S1, in that order. The $4.99 Lucas is not that bad, especially for the price.

Re: Used Bosch 386 Injectors > Cleanable?

i'm just going to use STP injector cleaner when mine come in. Bad call? is it too concentrated to put directly on the injectors?

    X2

I have some valve train noise probably from cam adjusters. I got the nasty flush from my BG guy today. Will post to see how it came out.

Re: Used Bosch 386 Injectors > Cleanable?

Somebody just gave me bad rep for the american car comment! Ha. If they are so great, why are GM and Ford in the can with respect to profits?
