    exhaust bolt and spring mia

About a week ago i started hearing a metallic rattle from under the car during acceleration and whenever i would hit a bump. Finally got the car on a lift and the bolt and spring the hold the piping to the bracket have magically disappeared so my DP is just sitting next to the bracket and rubbing all day long. anyone know where I could pick up the OEM parts or am i going to have to head to the hardware store?

    I guess I should mention its an 01 a4QM

yup i lost one too. the part at audi were like $100 [yes really]. so hardware store it was. get a long bolt, big spring and a nut. this way you can use the extra nut to double nut the bolt to the nut welded onto the exhaust. mine's held tight for a few thousand..

i just measured the gap, got a spring about an inch longer, long bolt, couple stainless washers.. and an extra nut.

there's a bracket down there [trans side or exhaust side, i forget which] that has a captive nut in the bracket. i just pieced it together, and used a second nut to lock the bolt so it can't back out.
