K04s just went on ( k04's were NIB), and theres blue smoke coming from the back of the car. No shrieks, no cel, vag reveals nada.

Is this normal? If normal how long would you think the smoke would last for? Any other trouble shooting is appreciated.

All Red/Yellow plugs were removed from the K04s during install. No oil lines are kinked.

Heres the setup. AWE Fueling(set to stock), AWE intercoolers, and K04s (NIB), this is on a 2001.5 S4.

Talk to me people, Am I paranoid?

Did your KO3's blow? If so you might have some oil left in the downpipes.

    Re: Paranoid?

mine took a while to stop blowing some leftover oil from my mishap.

id drive it for a little while.. get it up to temp ( it takes the exhaust a while to heat up enough to burn whatevers in it)

dont beat it up .. just drive it normal and see what happens.

thanks man, i got the car set to stock mode and i plan on keeping out of boost for a little while till everything is expanded and set. Hopefully, the turbo seals are not the issue. Last thing i want to f-ing here is replacing good k03s for bad k04s, hopefully this is not the case and its just intense paranoia

can anyone, confirm or deny smoke after install and to what extent?

    Re: Paranoid?

It's normal to have some smoke from the oil they put in the turbos at the factory. After running the car for about 10 minutes, it should stop.

Just FYI, I have a customer's car sitting in my driveway right now with the engine out, waiting for the K04's to come back from BW. I installed them, then removed them after realizing that oil was getting into the exhaust passages of the turbos BIG TIME. Every time you fired up the car you'd burn half a quart of oil.

smoke has cleared, must have been the oil that came in the turbos and any residue.
