where to get licence plate light screws??

i stripped mine and audi said u have to but the plastice cover with it..any1 know where to get just the screws?

man that sux. I know a few member's here have had drilled them out. Not sure if they used the a bigger screw to replace it.

that happened to me when i first bought the car back in Feb...i had to drill out the stripped screw.

fortunately i had some small screws laying around the house to replace them

when this happened to me, i just had to buy a new unit (plastic piece + screw)... Ive actually had to buy a couple of them now. They are like $17.00, so not a big deal, but I guess it is when all you need is a $0.02 screw.

Lowes has the screws (just replaced mine last month).. its like size A-3 in the metric section.. thats my best guess, but once you see the screw you'll know. bring the old one to match up as well

Same here. These license plate assemblies are such a horrible design. Those tiny little screws strip like crazy. I simply drilled my stripped screws out and drilled in new holes with better screws.

when i bought my car the plate rattled they put the wrong size metric screws in (way too long) anyhow i took one to a hardware store spent 1.50 on 4 new screws about 1/4 in in length. granted they arnt screw heads they are bolt but i dont mind that

Buy the whole lens with screw. Even if the lens and terminals are okay they will most likely shit the bed as soon as its all back together. They are delicate.

Put some vasoline on the screw and around the o-ring on the lens. This will prevent road salt build-up and corrosion on the terminals for the bulb (a big problem here in the northeast).
