    The B5 A4 platform does not have leveling motors for our headlights. I highly doubt any would have this issue. But it seems there is a fault with your leveling motor.

    i have an a4 with leveling headlights.......

    Older A4s had a lever attached to the control arm that changed the direction of the beam with the squat of the control arm. Motors were an option on newer models.

    i believe Onemoremile was installing leveling motors on his b5 avant

    Yeah well I know they are controlled by position sensors on the diagonal control arms driver front passenger rear. However I think they are working properly because the passenger side light is always right.

    Sigh, I'll have to do some digging around in the bentley manual.

    All B5s that came with Xenon option headlights from the factory have leveling motors.

    as other have suggested, the OP issue is probably related to the sensors on the control arms.
