    Mercedes CLS500 thoughts and opinions

Been thinking about one of these... the prices are coming down on them and they are a pretty attractive sedan. I love bigger sedans but I feel like a CLS will be larger, yet still have a younger guy feel... (I'm 20) I don't want to hear it about getting an S4 or something... Compare it to an A8 if you want to compare... I just want a nice large cruiser sedan...

How tall are you? reason i ask, i drove one in vegas, i am 6'1 and it was hard for me to get in and out.

    Nice ride.

problems- these what you need to hear.

Front visability- mirror in the way constantly
rear and side blind spots are bad.
hard to get in and out of.

other than that, its a pimp ride

I'm 5.9 on a good day... haha. So it shouldn't be a problem for me to get in and out of it.

Yea, I'm not crazy about the interior, but I think it will be better in black...

Yea... It doesn't look bad, but they need to be atleast 19's or 20s for that car... I want the sport though it looks soo much better with the AMG bumpers... And the sports gets the air suspension, already called Kleeman and will get a lowering module for it. :)

What a shame to see such a beautiful car on the outside ruined by that pitiful interior. Oh well, I'm sure it'll be fun to drive.

A8s are much more rare where I live so that'd be my choice. You could also get an '03 RS6. IMO Audis portray a much more youthful image than Mercedes while still maintaing luxury status.

I wouldn't call that interior pitiful by any means, an Evo's interior..thats pitiful. This interior is just a little to cluttered, thats about it. And I sat in a B8 A4 today, and wow not only was the exterior pretty drab (minus the front), the interior was super disappointing, I would have taken a B7 over that anyday.

Thats a good looking car! Might be one in a couple of thousand in SoCal but round Virginia way, you will mos def get noticed rolling around in that big Merc. A little push on the pedal on the right will plant you back into your seat too.

BTW, whats wrong with an A8?

Yea, there isn't a single one around where I live... I don't even see that many in Northern Virginia, Washington DC area.

Nothing wrong with the A8... I actually really like it. I drove one around for awhile... I just like the CLS styling and it has a younger guy feel... And to top it off there isn't a single one in town.

The A8 is more stand-up from the side I guess. The CLS has that way-high beltline and I get the appeal of that. I like that Mercedes classifies it as a coupe.
    The R8 looks.....youthful haha.

No R8 for me just yet...

But I went and test drove a CLS500 at the Benz dealership... It was in northern virginia so it was literarly half a mile up and down the road... which sucked but I really liked the car. I love the fact that it is arranged for 4 people. I made sure to check out one with black interior and I was surprisingly pleased with it... The other thing that I really liked is the frameless doors... Its a very nice touch. The visibility isnt the best in it but I could get used to it...

when i had my rental in vegas, the people in the back were hella comfortable so if you plan on driving peeps around, they will call you pimp for that car. Its like a limo. Just wish i wasnt so tall so i could fit in it.

Hah, hearing that then you'll definitely want to reconsider the A8. It excels in all those areas plus the interior is much better looking and thought out.

Frame-less without noise is hard work. M made this car Autobahn quiet.

You should look at E55's you can pick up a 2005 cpo'd one for around 40-45k. They have one at my dealer with 55k on it its an 04 and they only want 36 for it.
