    Control arm question

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Im thinking about replacing my front control arms. only 1 side is going out but i was thinking about replacing both as my car has 100k. The passenger side has gone out and when i go up a driveway that slopes alot it makes a sound. I was wondering what kit i should get and the best value for the money the best one so far was this one
    http://www.performance-cafe.com/prod...oducts_id=1683
but im also looking at ecs tuning ones
    http://www.ecstuning.com/stage/edpd/...ubcategory=OEM
just wanted to get ur opinions. i might just end up replacing the warn part but they say there updated and give better handling and i will be putting coil overs on the car soon.

Are any of these kits using adjustable upper control arms for camber alignment?

Dont think so. I think they are just replacement kits with some beefed up bits. other than than pretty close to OEM if not OEM.

    Re: Control arm question

I have these control arms. I repaced mine about 15k miles ago. no issues with the control arms at all. and I'm in between 2 cities - new orleans and houston, nothing but potholes. I now have issues w/tie rod ends, and wish i would have bought this full kit and replaced everything at once.

    Re: Control arm question

If your just going to replace the upper control arms you could always just buy new bushings instead of the whole control arm. I spent $30.00 for bushings and had a buddy of mine at my dealership press the old bushings out and the new ones in. Its a much more cost effective way to go.

    Re: Control arm question

I'm a big fan of both Pure MS (ordered in the past) and performance cafe (ordering asap). Performance cafe has a great sale on c/a's right now.

If you can press in the bushings, that would be AWESOME.

I haven't had CPP c/a's, but I'd research those first, I don't know that they hold up that well from what I've read online.
So long, and thanks for all the fish!

    CPP is out of business.

We've got some very cool adjustable arms on the way near the end of the year.

If you've got any specific questions on our Febi-Bilstein control arm kits I can answer, please shoot me an email or PM. Our kit is the only one I'm aware of that uses genuine S4 specific Lemfoerder TRE's. Most other kits use generic A4 tie rod ends which are inferior.
