Audi Driving Experience

Hey Guys!

I just went to an Audi Driving experience at the Pocono Speedway. It was a blast!

I got to test drive the new 2009 A4 on the track and compare it to the other cars in the same category.

- BMW
- Mercedes
- Lexus

It was my first time driving on a track and I had an amazing time! We started by driving on a small track and testing all the cars. The Lexus was the worst, one person completely spun the car out! The handling was horrible.

After the comparison drive, we moved to the track and pushed the A4 to the limit. It was awesome! Taking it up to 140 MPH and taking those turns was amazing.

Audi is really doing great things with their future cars; like the drive select and changing from comfort to dynamic.

It was all free and quite a good time, Audi knows how to take care of their customers. I even learned some driving techniques and saw an Audi in action.

I was wondering if anyone else came to this event from the forums?

I drove the MB C300 on Mercedes' "drive around" day in DC and it was crap.

Yeah I agree, the Mercedes was very loose and did not grip well. It felt "floaty." The Lexus had too much play. I enjoyed the bimmer and the Audi.

I would love to do their driving thing in CA in Sonoma with the wine tasting.

I thought you would be talking about driving the R8 and RS4? Did they only let you drive an A4??? Is this not the deal where you pay $500?

I'm going in a few months out here in Cali. The Driving Experience didn't cost any $$$, first come first serve. The Sports Car Experience cost $$$ and gets you seat time in the RS4 and R8.

How do you join up for this??? Ive always wanted to do that and esp. go to the pocoono track but its like 300 to race for the day thats too much for me...

There are two free ones both for the A4 and a half day paid one where you can drive the TT, A3, A4, and A5 plus chauffeured laps in the S5 and R8.

the Lexus is sh*t as well. too much electronic control, I hate that.
the good thing I liked was they had fan/ac in the seats

The Audi Sportscar Experience is awesome! I Say, don't spend that dough on c/o's and wheels...go drive an R8 on the track and hone your skills! Then go spend money on modding your car.

You get to drive. I did the $595 program, 6 hours, you get track time with the RS4 and the R8. If you wanna be baller, you do the full day with the R8 at a cost of $1800 or something like that. That one is also at Infineon raceway, which is much better than the infield at cali speedway that I did.

You'll get class room time, and track time. It's a lead-follow situation. There's another guy in the car that's not the instructor. You guys switch off, 7 laps for you, 7 laps for me. That was the half day experience. I want to do the full day, but that also means some hotel up north and travel. Unless I'm getting my car all pimped out at STaSIS, I could just go to audi driving experience while that is going on.
