Uh... whats up with the B8 2.0t Turbo...

I just took a look at the engine on the new B8 A4 2.0t and realized that the exhaust mani and exhaust housing on the turbo are cast into one piece!?!?!? I couldn't really see the compressor side but it almost looked like one of the B5 S4 turbos w/ the turbo compressor outlet curved...

Looks like that cars going to be expensive to find a turbo that swaps in and out...

Funny, that's what people were saying when we went from the 1.8T in the B6 to the 2.0T in the B7. The tuners figured that out just fine, so we should be OK.

The b7's are the same as the b8's? I never knew that!? The manifold almost looks like the apr cast mani

I didn't say they were the same either, just that the way the manifold was integrated into the turbo was vastly different than that of the 1.8T.

the turbo with the integrated manifold has been found namely on TDI's for quite some time now. The Neon SRT4 is similar as well.

The primary benefit of this setup (not cost, since it is more expensive to make), is faster spool & decreased lag.

APT makes a turbo manifold (at least for the B7 2.0t, may work on the B8-- I dunno) for T3 & T25 flanges
