throttle bottle error code, tried searching...

ok, I did search, the answer I came up with was that this is very common and you cant do jack but bring it to a dealer...

unsatisfied with that, here I am.

is there any way to get even SOME functionality back to the car?

the battery was disconnected for an audio install, its my cousins car, 1000miles away from me in the middle of no where pennsylvania, and he is leaving for college on friday(5 hours away), the dealer (who is 90min away) cant see him till saterday. even so, the car wont go over 20mph, so yeah. Im hoping there is some way to reset this thing without going to a dealer.

only possible reference I could find was to turn the ignition on, hold the gas down for 10sec, and release and turn off. but that didnt work, or we are missing some important step.

any help would be greatly appreciated. its actually an A6 if it matters, but I think this is an engine issue, not a body panel issue, so yeah...

You're in the wrong forum, this is the B6 platform forum for the A4.

However, it sounds like you just need to do a throttle body alignment. You can find more information about how to do that in an A6 here.

yes I know its a B6, but the A6 is a 2002, which would be the B6 platform no? and the engine is shared?

maybe not.

did a search with your search string, came up with a few random possibilities... put it into accessory mode for 2 min. disconnect the battery for 15min(isnt that what broke it to begin with?) none of these answers seems particularly confident, no common result anyway.

well guess Ill tell him to give those 2 a shot anyway

-start with car turned OFF
-turn key to on position and leave it there for 2 minutes-DO NOT START THE CAR OR PRESS ANY PEDALS!
-Turn key to off position
-start car again and DONE!!!

B6 is part of the 2002-2005 A4 chassis code, you drive a C5 A6. They don't really share anything except the 4 rings on the front lol.
