    Rub me the wrong way?

I posted this in the tires section and learned that this size will fit on the s-line rims, however wasn't sure about rub issues. Will 225 45 18 Pirelli 240 SnowSport snow tires work on a A4 Avant with the OEM 2008 18" S-line rims with the s-line sport suspension? The recommended size is 235 40 18. Has anybody run this size tire? I have a chance to pick up a lightly used set and want to make sure I wont have rubbing issues at full lock or over bumps.

    Thanks for the help!

With a 225 width they should run fine with out rubbing, assuming you are at stock height. However it is best to keep the overall rolling diamater the same, as running a 45 rather than a 40 series tire will increase this, which will mess up the reading on your speedo.

That said I have these tires on my 17" stock rims for a winter set up and love them!! Great traction in the snow!

that's about a 7mm difference in wall height (i think), but you should be fine on stock suspension. even lowered the tire should be thin enough to have plenty of room in the wheel well when suspension is loaded.
