    Dipped Headlights Often

So I got my car last year and within a few weeks I was getting the dipped headlight warning. But after a few days it went away and it was fine. But then it came back so I decided to replace the bulb. Instead of just replacing it with a cheap bulb, I upgraded both head lights to the nicer Silverstar H7's. They were great until a few weeks ago one went out. I checked it, it was blown, put back in one of the old ones. Then this weekend the other one conked out too. This isn't a big deal and not a whole lot of work to fix, but I don't feel like paying 50 bucks every 8 months for a new set of head lights. Is this normal to happen this often or just a one time sorta thing?
