Different between 09 2.0T and 06 2.0T

transmission. the longitudinal only comes with a quattro, tip, or cvt. afaik the passat isn't offered in awd with this platform, and they wanted normal fwd not cvt, hence the transverse mount.

I really want to know why they are transverse. I don't see the new Audi being transverse as Quattro is not changing anytime soon.

Even though the T still stands for Turbo, in Audispeak old engine is called "2.0T FSI", while the new one is called "2.0 TFSI".

yes new engine however it is based VERY closely on the current technology it is just slightly better in almost all aspects including the new Variable Valve Timing which is supposedly the main contributor to the power increases

Alright I'm sitting and waiting for my car to get done at the dealership! The B8 is alright! The exhaust is back to the left side like the b5, they don't have smic! They get a cover over there washer fluid and battery! Which b7's have to buy! The front grill looks more of a pain to change! They don't have a button for the gas tank! Hmmm what else

With the 2.0T the LED DRL's are an option along with xenon headlights, chrome window trim, 6 disk changer, and a bunch of other stuff. Where as all thats standard on the 3.2.
Edit: guess thats a comparison between the 3.2 and 2.0T oh well fun fact then.

ive read the new hp tq stats to be 211 and 258. The engine is obviously capable of much more torque, like ours, but is limited as 258 is the magic limit used in their testing purposes. if our engine can put down close to 300 tq with only a chip then i am eager to see what tuners will pull from this revised, stronger engine.

It also has the PVC issue fixed along with a 150 bar fuel pump so no fuel cuts!!!! With the Variable timing and timing chain it fixes the little challanges from the B7

The newest B6 Passat ( not same B6 as 02-05 A4) is built on a modified Golf/Jetta platform, where as the previous generations were built on the A4 chassis. Thats why now Passat is now tranverse and uses Haldex for 4Motion. The previous generation was longitudinal and used Torsen since it was pretty much an A4 with different skin.

I understand that, But what is to say the chain wont fail or the tensioner wont? most the time it isn't the belt breaking, it is the tensioner failing then bringing the belt with it!
