    What tires for my 03 A4 Quattro W/ Sports Package?

    My fronts are getting to the end of their life and I made the mistake of just replacing two instead of all four, in the past.

    I live in Charleston, SC so no snow.

    I want a quite tire with good grip in the wet and dry. I'm not sure what I should get. I'm leaning to the OEM tires (Dunlop or Continentel)

    MOST of all I want tires that balance well!

    Cheers,

    A lower quality tire could somtimes tend to use more weights to balance. Since you are looking into Dunlop and Continental I would recommend Dunlop Direzza DZ101 which is a summer tire at $107 a piece and the Continental Extreme Contact which is a all season at $109 a piece. Both great quality tires that we mount all the time.

    Sorry to sound really dense,

    Whats the difference between a summer tire and an all season tire, obviously one is designed for just summer and the other is an all rounder. Will the summer tire be quiet and have grip inthe rain? The streets here have crappy drainage so hydroplaning is on the cards.

    Thanks in Advance

    The summer tires have a little "stickier" rubber to them, so they'll handle better when pushed hard. This aggressive rubber compound (and tread design) normally makes the "summer only" tires noisier and less durable than the all season versions. Unless you push your car really hard on a regular basis, the all season tires will be more durable and quieter option.

    We recently had a chance to test several high performance all season tires, and I liked the BF Goodrich Super Sport and the Bridgestone RE960AS. Click on the link for further info;

    Thanks for the reply,

    I'm still undecided on tires. i've had a look at the link but they seem on the highier end of my budget.

    If I order from tire rack is it up to me to find a tire place to get them installed or do you have partnership with other chains like Firestone?

    We work with most Firestone locations, but click on the link below and enter your ZIP code;
