Took the car in today to have my lowers painted. Yeah, i know, "Do it yourself". I wanted to, but i guess i'm just anal to the point i'd much rather have it done professionally.

Anywho, as i was talking with my paint guy, i got a wild hair up my @$$ and told him to paint the roof black.

Should be out of the shop either Wed or Thu, so i'll post up when she's all nice and pretty......can't wait.

UPDATE!!

Here she is so far. I go back to the shop Monday to get the rest of the roof painted. I'm going to have them re-look at what paint they used because the lowers are a hair whiter than the rest of the car. I'm suspicious that they used the wrong code, but it may be that the paint needs time to fade...idk

I still have some cleanup work to do, and i need to remove the two white pieces from the front lower valance. But i'm digging the way she's starting to look

I have a set of rieger sides and rear if you are interested in having them done while the car is at the shop.

Reiger sides and rears aren't my taste, only reason i have the front bumper is cause it was free.

But if i were in the market you'd be the one to call.

So i stopped by the paintshop today to check on the progress of the car. The paintwork is done and all that is left is to piece it back together.

The only unfortunate thing with the work is that the black door-sill on both sides is/was so inundated with Armor-All and Mother's back-to-black, that we fear the paint won't hold up well on that piece. Rather than have him replace the sills and re-shoot them, i will just get S4 skirts somewhere down the line. I'll just have to be careful getting in and out of the car and deal with it.

The good news is that the black roof looks BALLER!! My paint-guy, Rex, being the 'trusted advisor' that he is, suggested that i carry the black down over the a-pillars so that the entire top of the car (bottom of the windows, up) is all black. I agreed with him, so he is going to finish painting it next week. So yeah, my car is going to be two-toned now

Hot, lovin the black roof. I think that was a good choice. Painted lowers also look better.

Paintwork turned out great, especially the roof.

White is incredibly hard to match. My car spent 3 full days at the bodyshop to match my body kit. In some places, it matches exactly, in others, it's a fractionally off...just like the factory USP pieces. Unfortunately, the plastic pieces suck up the same paint differently than steel. Unless the color is really off, no one will be able to tell the difference but you.

^Yeah, i don't know how much of a stink that i want to make about it. I'm completely understanding of the fact that white is a bitch to match, but i do know that my rear valance is waaaay off (as you can see in the last pic). So they're either going to reshoot it, or tint it just a bit to get it to match. I'm really hoping it'll fade/yellow over time. But it is def an improvement over the black lowers, that's for sure
